Comparison web sites help consumers decide
Four out of 10 consumers in the UK who changed gas and electricity suppliers in the last five years say comparison web sites helped them decide to switch.

The finding followed research by YouGov SixthSense and was welcomed by, one of the UK's leading price comparison web sites.

The YouGov study showed that 72% of UK consumers have switched their gas and/or electricity accounts in the last five years, with 41% of consumers reporting that price comparison web sites influenced their choice to switch. Additionally, over half of all the consumers polled indicated that they found price comparison web sites very helpful.
